Jeremy Brown
Nationally Certified Pilates Instructor, Licensed Massage Therapist, FAKT—Fascintegral Applied Kinematic Theory Specialist
Jeremy has been teaching movement—including martial arts, dance, and yoga—for over 30 years. In 2006, his own injuries led him to Pilates training as a powerful tool for recovery and rehabilitation, and he completed the BASI Pilates comprehensive teacher training program. Early in his Pilates career, Jeremy began collaborating with a pelvic floor physical therapist and working with post-rehab clients, many of whom were navigating chronic, long-standing pain. Through this work, he discovered that retraining efficient and effective core function was essential to meaningful, lasting progress.
Driven to better support the people in his care, Jeremy pursued extensive continuing education in post-rehabilitation training. His studies span biomechanics and corrective exercise for the entire body, with specialized focus on spinal conditions, scoliosis, neurodegenerative disorders, hypermobility spectrum disorders, spinal cord injuries, and movement strategies for both avoiding and recovering from joint replacement.
Recognizing the powerful synergy between manual therapy and movement retraining, Jeremy expanded his scope of practice in 2016 by becoming a licensed massage therapist. By releasing physical restrictions in the body, clients are better able to access new neurosomatic pathways—strengthening the connection between brain, body, and movement. His bodywork training includes craniosacral therapy through the Upledger Institute, myofascial release through the John Barnes method, and visceral manipulation through the Barral Institute.
Jeremy’s work further evolved through collaboration with a physical therapist trained in the Thoracic Ring Approach, deepening his understanding of the relationship between breath, rib mobility, chronic lumbar and pelvic pain, and efficient core mechanics. This experience broadened his perspective on the body as an integrated, interconnected system. In 2019, an article titled “Biotensegrity or Fascintegrity?” inspired a deeper exploration of fascial connectivity, and in 2023, Jeremy developed his own biomechanical framework: FAKT—Fascintegral Applied Kinematic Theory. This model explains how kinetic energy dynamically transfers through the body’s fascial system during movement.
Today, Jeremy uses this framework to help people experience movement differently in their bodies. With a focus on maximizing ease and efficiency, he teaches simple tools that are easily transferred into other forms of exercise and all activities of daily life. Jeremy’s greatest professional joy comes from seeing clients apply these tools in their daily lives—returning with stories of improved movement, reduced pain, and lasting change.
Teri Lewis
Certified Balanced Body Pilates Instructor - All Apparatus; ACE Personal Trainer & Group Fitness Certification; Gray Institute FYS, FAFS, CAFS, 3DMAPS, FMR, FSTT, CR, FCR • E-RYT200, RYT500; TRX Certification
Teri has spent more than 40 years immersed in the fitness and wellness industry. Her passion for movement began early as a competitive gymnast and later grew through many years of coaching. After college, she worked in the corporate world before choosing to stay home to raise her children—a transition that opened the door to expanding her teaching repertoire. Over the years, she has taught a wide range of formats including Pilates, Barre, Yoga, Group Fitness, and Personal Training.
Pilates Reformer felt like coming home, reminding her of the conditioning methods she once used as a gymnast. After completing her Balanced Body Comprehensive Pilates training, Teri’s quest for more knowledge led her to the Gray Institute. Inspired by their 3-dimensional, whole-body approach to movement—so aligned with Pilates principles—she continued her education through multiple specialty programs, including Certified Applied Functional Science (CAFS), Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS), Functional Soft Tissue Transformation (FSTT), and Female Chain Reaction (FCR). She has also participated in the esteemed GIFT mentorship annually since 2018.
Seeing the transformational success of her clients through 3D functional movement, Teri recognized a gap between traditional yoga and the needs of the modern body. She approached Dr. Gary Gray to propose what ultimately became their Functional Yoga System Specialty Course. Teri applies the same techniques while teaching Pilates and Barre. Working with Gray Institute faculty has been both a privilege and a joy. Most recently, Teri joined their collaborative group contributing to the Institute’s new course on Fascia.
Teri is passionate about helping her students and clients explore ways to seamlessly piece together their individual needs whether in a private or group setting. The goal is to help them move better, feel younger and create a healing environment for chronic injuries. A gift wrapped up and tied with a bow of fun and encouragement.
Teri and her husband, Jim, have been married for 31 years and recently relocated to the area after their three children launched into their careers. Outside the studio, she loves spending time with family, playing games, going to the beach, reading, and working out.
